After years of spiritual work, Swami Ramchandra Das founded Sri Aurobindo Ashram and Yoga Mandir in Kathmandu, Nepal in 1993 in order to inspire others to live a life of meaning. Starting from nothing, this ashram now has a meditation center, Ayurvedic healing center, organic farm, school, guest house, and cultural center.
He has recently started two other ashrams operating on the principles of Sri Aurobindo. The one in Nagari chiefly supports the agricultural needs of the other two. The one in Gulmi is envisioned to be an example of environmental sustainability and living with nature.
